Treehouse TV’s Judy and David coming to St. Jacobs

The St. Jacobs Country Playhouse will be taken over by youngsters during March Break when Juno award-winning entertainers Judy and David return to the St. Jacobs Country Playhouse with their new family musical, PigMania.

In this fresh spin on the “Three Little Pigs,” PigMania is the ultimate hog town adventure. The Big Bad Wolf is a 60s-style rocker, Mama Pig plays the sax, and the lazy Pig brothers prefer partying at the beach to building wolf-proof houses.

When the dastardly villain shows up with barbecue sauce, it’s up to the responsible sister Pig to save the day.

Judy and David are the stars of Treehouse TV’s hit series Judy & David’s Boom Box. They launched in 1993 with the goal of providing hip, fun-filled children’s music to engage young audiences with active involvement. By combining new children’s songs with a few old favourites – all with modern rhythms and styles – parents get to enjoy the show together with their child.

“Judy and David are among Canada’s most sought-after performers of family entertainment,” says Alex Mustakas, Artistic Director of Drayton Entertainment.

“Both kids and parents love their music, and we are thrilled to provide this opportunity for families looking for something fun to do during the March Break.”

This dynamic duo has become one of the most successful children’s recording acts in North America, with a total of 18 recordings that have sold over five million units in a dozen countries around the world.

Judy and David are the recipients of the 2002 SOCAN Award for Children’s Music, the coveted Parents Choice Gold Award, numerous Juno nominations, and the 1998 Juno award for “Best Children’s Recording” for their album Livin’ in a Shoe.

Organizers are billing PigMania as high-energy family fun for children from pre-kindergarten to 8-years-old.  The St. Jacobs Country Playhouse 2009 season is proudly sponsored by Manulife One.

Judy and David’s PigMania plays two shows daily, at 10am and 1pm, March 19 through 22. Special family friendly pricing has been created for this production: $15 for children and only $20 for adults.

Tickets can be ordered by calling the St. Jacobs Country Playhouse box office at 519-747-7788 or toll free at 1-888-449-4463.
