Tree Trust celebrates Earth Day
ELORA – Tree Trust, under the leadership of Toni Ellis, held an Earth Day outing on April 22 in Elora’s Victoria Park. The group aims to save older trees, and Baum Tree Care has helped them with trimming. At the event, they pruned a native black cherry tree. Mayor Shawn Watters welcomed the crowd, including students from Elora Public School, before the trim. Rick Hrytzak from the Elora Singers performed two songs about trees and a round composed by Julie Corey by was sung by eight singers. The work was supported by Scott Giddy.
