PALMERSTON – No one was injured but a tractor and baler were destroyed by fire here on Friday.

Palmerston firefighters responded to the fire, in a wheat field across from TG Minto, near the intersection of Main Street East and Toronto Street, shortly before 5pm on July 31.

They were aided by firefighters and a tanker from the Harriston station, as well as a tanker crew from Mapleton's station in Moorefield, deputy fire chief Callise Loos told the Advertiser.

"[The call] took about 1.5 hours to complete," Loos stated in an email, adding there were "no injuries to anyone involved."

A damage estimate was not immediately available.
