The township is filing an application with the province to recover money spent on damages from the winter ice storm.
Treasurer Paul Dowber recommended in a report to council on June 9 that the township make an application to the province under its Ice Storm Assistance Program.
Dowber told the Advertiser township is seeking a claim for $10,000 to recover costs associated with the ice storm. The treasurer acknowledged the township managed to reduce costs through township works staff managing to do work without incurring overtime.
The $10,000 is associated with the cost of renting equipment for debris clean up.
Council approved the application, which will be forwarded to the province by the treasurer.
