Township officials have proposed a bylaw amendment to prohibit parking on one side of various streets in?Drayton.

In a report last week Fire Chief Rick Richardson and Public Works Director Larry Lynch told council emergency vehicles have trouble accessing some streets in the village.

They proposed an amendment to the township’s parking bylaw that would permit parking “on the sidewalk side only” of Maple Street, Andrews Drive, Dales Drive, Edward Street, Parkview Drive, Green Street, Ridgeview Drive and River Run?Road.

Mayor John Green suggested Bonniewood Drive and Hillview Drive be added to the list and Lynch said he had no problem with that.

Council unanimously approved the recommendation from Richardson and Lynch, including the addition of Hillview Drive and Bonniewood Drive.
