Township to explore audible signals

Council will explore the cost of installing audible signals at busy intersections in Arthur and Mount Forest.

Council, at its March 24 meeting, approved a motion put forward at an earlier meeting by councillor Dan Yake to investigate the possibility and cost of installing the hearing impaired devices at cross walks.

The intersections include George and Charles Street and George-Smith Streets and Frederick Streets in Arthur and Main and Wellington Streets and Main and Queen Streets in Mount Forest.

Staff will look into various suppliers and options, MTO guidelines and restrictions and available funding possibilities.
