Township: jobs, investment incentive program a success

Through its Jobs and Investment Incentive Program, Centre Wellington council approved a development charge grant in the amount of $16,545 for Andy Crane Auto Service in Fergus.

Funds will go toward fully equipping the new business along with planning for further growth on the property.

A second development charge grant in the amount of $16,837 was approved for Reliable Ford in Fergus, as set out in the Jobs and Incentive Program. Reliable Ford applied for and received a deferral of development charges in 2016. That deferral was extended in 2017 and ends on June 29, 2018.

Officials say the request for development charge relief under the Jobs and Investment Incentive Program has already resulted in the creation of six new jobs.
