Township hires temporary CBO

Guelph-Eramosa has hired a temporary chief building official while CBO Mike Newark recovers from cancer treatments.

Council decided at its May 5 meeting to approve the temporary hiring of Bob Foster, retired CBO from Centre Wellington.

Newark has been off work since he was diagnosed with cancer earlier this year and is undergoing treatment.

“We needed someone who can sign permits,” Mayor Chris White said of the temporary position. “We’re waiting for Mike to come back.”
