Township gets budget update
Wellington North finance chairman Dan Yake says there are issues to work through and the departments will be asked to make cuts to operating expenses.
He explained a capital budget meeting was held Jan. 29, and the committee has reviewed the capital requirements of each department.“We need to go back to a couple departments for a few clarifications,” he said.
He added the committee will be going back to each department looking for more operational cuts.
“We haven’t determined the number yet, but we are looking for more cuts in operations.”
He said the group would meet again on Feb. 5 to pull things together.
Shortly, he would like to have a meeting with all of council present for comments.
“There’s a few issues to resolve but we’re making some pretty good progress.”
