Township gets $50,000 in trail funding
Centre Wellington will be getting $50,000 from Wellington County for improvements to the township portion of the Trestle Bridge Trail.
On June 26, Mayor Kelly Linton said the grant will support $100,000 of improvements to the trail in Elora between Waterloo and Gilkinson Streets.
The county portion of the trail is between Gilkinson Street and Beatty Line.
“That trail is going to be redone. It’s a footpath right now (on the township portion),” Linton said, adding the township intends to lay down a stone dust path as well as other improvements.
“It’s just another partnership with the county,” he said.
