Township gets $465,332 in cash from OLG

Centre Wellington Township has received its third-quarter slots payment  – this time is $465,332.
That brings payments to the township to $6.9-million since 2003. The township uses the money for infrastructure.
Centre Wellington has 104 bridges and there are 32 that need major repairs.
Since the facility at the southwest end of the village opened, it has hosted 2.5 million visitors.
Centre Wellington pays about 20 per cent of its share to Wellington County. The Grand River Racetrack receives 20% of the gross revenue, divided between tracks and the horse racing industry.
The province also uses the cash to make donations to charities, through the Ontario Trillium Foundation. This year, that is expected to reach $105-million, and the government is set to increase that funding by $20-million by 2009-10.
