Tour de Guelph returns for 13th annual cycling event
GUELPH – The Tour de Guelph will once again be rolling through the streets of Guelph, as the community cycling fundraiser takes place on June 28.
Officials say all ages and abilities are welcomed to enjoy this safe, community cycling event while raising funds to support The Foundation of Guelph General Hospital and local initiatives through Rotary Clubs of Guelph South and Guelph Trillium.
Over the years, Tour de Guelph has become an annual tradition, combining an active outdoor event with fundraising that stays local. To date, the event has raised $1.4 million in net proceeds.
“Tour de Guelph is about community,” stated Deb Allen, Rotary Club Guelph South member and Tour de Guelph co-chair.
“It’s an opportunity for people to come together in a fun and healthy way, while directly supporting our local community.”
Funds raised through this year’s event will support the expansion of Guelph General’s Speedvale Campus, bringing enhanced access to ambulatory care to meet the growing needs of the community, as well as local initiatives through Rotary Clubs of Guelph South and Guelph Trillium, officials say.
“Not many know that all patient care equipment is funded by donations, as is the construction of the new Speedvale Campus,” stated Julie Bycyznski, CEO of the Foundation of Guelph General Hospital.
“The generosity of this community makes a real impact, with every rider, donor, volunteer, and sponsor helping to strengthen health care in our region.”
Rotary Club of Guelph Trillium member and Tour de Guelph co-chair Liz Fisk stated, “Supporting community non-profits with funds generated through Tour de Guelph is one of the ways that Rotary Trillium provides service above self, Rotary’s motto.”
Funding from the 2025 event supported 38 organizations including the Brain Injury Association with bike helmets, Action Read to promote mental health while strengthening literacy skills, and Hospice Wellington’s spousal loss support group.
Riders can choose from six route options designed for families, recreational cyclists and experienced riders alike, including 5km, 25km, 50km, 75km and 113km road routes and a 50km multi-surface route.
All rides will depart from and return to the University of Guelph’s University Centre, a new on-campus hub for this year’s event offering enhanced access and facilities.
Riders and volunteers can also enjoy a complimentary barbecue provided by Harvey’s Restaurants of Guelph, kids’ activities in the family fun zone and post-event photos at the finishers’ podium.
Registration is now open with early bird pricing available until March 31.
