Time for burning bushes is past

Do not expect to see burning bushes in the future.

Wellington North council has adopted a recent works committee report that states “the time for burning brush is past”

The township has an arrangement to dump brush in a local pit where normally it gets burned. Due to a number of factors, burning is no longer an option and due to the volume of material being sent there a wood grinder will need to be brought in to process the brush.

The report noted this is an unexpected cost and will need to be shared by the pit owner and the township.

The committee agreed that in the future, the materials from the monthly brush pickup in Mount Forest be taken to All Treat Farms in Arthur.
