Tickets available for inaugural ‘Top 7 Over 70’ awards
GUELPH – Tickets are now on sale for the inaugural Top 7 Over 70 awards, an evening to recognize seven individuals making meaningful contributions to their communities after the age of 70.
The awards highlight community members who demonstrate that passion, purpose and influence do not diminish with age, officials say.
The event celebrates those who remain actively engaged today through leadership, volunteerism, advocacy and service today.
“These awards remind us that age is not a barrier to making a difference,” said United Way Guelph Wellington Dufferin executive director Glenna Banda in a news release.
The event is set for Oct. 29 at the Delta Hotels Guelph Conference Centre.
Tickets are $135 each, and include a three-course dinner.
Organizers say the evening will provide an opportunity to hear inspiring stories and recognize outstanding community members, while also supporting programs and initiatives that help older adults remain connected and engaged.
Funds raised will go toward services for older adults, through programs supported by United Way Guelph Wellington Dufferin.
