Three parks in Fergus to receive new playground equipment

ELORA – Three parks in Fergus will be receiving new playground installations this year.

Open Space Solutions received the contract for all the installations at the April 23 committee of the whole meeting and the subsequent April 29 council meeting.

Gibbons Drive Park, located at 62 Gibbons Drive in Fergus will receive a $65,784 (including non-rebate HST) playground. The project is $9,206 under budget.

The Revell Drive Park, at 62 Revell Drive in Fergus will cost about $59,131 (including non-rebate HST). That project is also under budget by $869.

The Tait Crescent Park, at 254 Tait Crescent in Fergus will be receiving a playground structure for about $40,955 (including non-rebate HST). That project is under budget by $38. However, the landscaping for the park is about $10,955 over budget at a price tag of $40,955 (including non-rebate HST.)

The total planned work for Tait Crescent Park will cost $89,345.

Based on the following criteria, Openspace Solutions scored higher than the other bidders including ABC Recreation Limited and PlayPower LT Canada Inc.: references/experiences; play opportunities; play value; safety; durability; appearance; warranty; and  cost.
