THOMPSON, Samuel “Fred”; (1937 – 2015) Passed away peacefully on Thursday, February 19th, 2015 at St. Michael’s Hospital, Toronto in his 78th year. Beloved husband of Margaret for 56 years. Cherished father of Bill (Debra) and Susan (Darren Hutton). Lovingly remembered by grandchildren Ryan (Erin), Kevin and Graeme Thompson; Kendra, Melanie, Taralyn and Chandler Hutton. Also missed by great-grandchildren Kendal and Peyton Thompson. Sadly missed by brother Bob (Shirley), David (Linda), Jim (Lynne), Gord (Sandie) and sister Lillian Eagles and many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by sister Margaret and her husband Bill McElwaine and brother Albert (Georgina). Visitation was held at Simes Funeral Home, 48 Main St. S., Grand Valley, on Sunday, February 22nd from 6:00-9:00 p.m. A funeral service was held at Trinity United Church, 17 King St. Grand Valley, on Monday, February 23rd at 1:00 p.m. following a Masonic service at 12:30 p.m. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to St. Michael’s Foundation, The Children’s Wish Foundation or Ontario Standardbred Adoption Society.
