Pumpkin chuckin’ – Adam James once again built a huge catapult to launch pumpkins across a field, and invited guests to watch the spectacle on the 5th Line of Centre Wellington on Nov. 1. It’s the fifth catapult he’s built and this one took about 20 hours, not including milling trees for the wood. The smashed pumpkins are left for deer to enjoy, and any leftovers are donated to a local beef farmer. PHOTO 1: Greyson Froes, 3, enjoyed checking out the pumpkins. Haunted woods – On Oct. 29, the forest came alive with eerie howls, creepy creatures and scary surprises as ghosts and ghouls emerged from the shadows to haunt the night – all in support of Norwell District Secondary School’s hamper program. School officials shared “a huge thank you to everyone who dared to brave the creatures of the night and ventured into our haunted forest for fright night! And an equally big shout-out to all of our amazing scarers who brought the frights, screams and spooky magic to life! Together, we raised just over $450 for the hamper program. It was a night full of fright, fun and community spirit. Thank you for helping make a difference, one scream at a time!” Submitted photos
