Pipes are calling – Joyce Reimer, owner of the Scottish Corner Shop in Fergus, gave a cheque for $1,000 to the Fergus Pipe Band on June 16. The band celebrates its 100th anniversary this year and Reimer wanted to give back to the band, which provides so much entertainment and service for the community throughout the year. Donation – On June 15, 100 Women CW presented a cheque for $12,400 to the Family Children’s Services of Guelph and Wellington County in support of the Children First Fund’s Youth Transition Program. The funding will help more than 60 youth, ages 16 to 22, leaving care access essential household and start-up items as they move into independent living. Ambassadors – Emery Richardson, left, Caleigh Lubbers, centre, and Shayla Glazema, right, participated in the 2026-27 Harriston-Minto Fall Fair Ambassador Program on July 3. The Harriston-Minto Agricultural Society announced on Facebook on July 4 that the new senior ambassador position was awarded to Glazema, and Richardson is the new junior ambassador. “We look forward to seeing all they accomplish in the year ahead,” the society wrote.
