PHOTO 4: The Hillsburgh Snow Roamers reunited with the Special Friends Club of Hillsburgh on Jan. 31 after more than 12 years since the groups last got together. The Snowroamers gave rides at Barbour Field for the club, which provides respite day programming for developmentally challenged individuals. Chricket Yule, who started the program out of St. Andrews Presbyterian Church in 1995, said the club provides social interaction and outings for its members. The Town of Erin provided the field for use; Erin-based South Simcoe Machines served up hotdogs, grilled cheese and coffee; and Erin-based Team K-OS provided rides and sleds. Basketball battle – Teams from St. Mary Catholic Elementary School in Elora (blue jerseys) and St. Joseph Catholic School in Fergus (grey) faced off in the boys elementary basketball tournament at Bishop Macdonell Catholic High School in Guelph on Jan. 29.
