New court – At an Aug. 11 Minto council meeting, councillor Ron Elliot shared news of the updated sports pad in Palmerston, located at Lions Park. Dave Wilson of the Lions club came up with the idea, according to Elliot, and the Palmerston Lions raised money for the project, along with the Palmerston Legion and local businesses. The court lines were finished on Aug. 12. Wilson stated on the Lions’ Facebook page that the southern nets will be moved to match the new courts. Photo by Nicole Beswitherick
