Weekend fun – Children big and small were treated to some pre-Easter fun at the Harriston Community Centre on April 4 from 10am to 12pm. The Egg Scramble event was hosted by Harriston Rising and featured crafts, activities and snacks for the little ones. PHOTO 1: Jacob Schipper was quite invested as he practiced planting seeds. PHOTO 2: Elia Palmer Patrick and her mom worked together to create a fluffy sheep out of paper, cotton balls and googly eyes. On the hunt – The Minto Optimists hosted an Easter egg hunt on April 4 at the Harriston ball diamond. The Easter “eggstravaganza” saw dozens of youngsters rushing to collect as many eggs as possible. Photos by Ellouise Thompson




Skills – The University of Guelph was abuzz on April 7 with the UGDSB’s skills showcase, where students from Grade 4 to 8 took part in various skills competitions. PHOTO 1: Elora Public School Grade 6 students Hayden Mott, Liam Appleton, Noah Albano and Ryder Woods were among those to show off their work. PHOTO 2: Aberfoyle Public School students, from left, Maeve Skrt, Jacob Ritzmann, Xiaobo Lucas Lu and Betty Dorombozi built, designed and programmed what they call a “doggy helicopter hypnotizer,” and were excited to share the details of the robot. Egg-Stravaganza – Erin Hill Acres hosted its Egg-Stravaganza event April 4, just ahead of the Easter holiday. Dozens of kids (and parents) dashed through the trees on the farm in search of highly coveted Easter eggs. Photos by Tristan Clark
