Thief breaks into Mount Forest church, steals electronics

MOUNT FOREST – Police are looking for help to find the person responsible for breaking into a local church and stealing electronics.

Wellington County OPP officials issued a press release on Jan. 8 stating that police are investigating the incident, which occurred sometime overnight on Dec. 16/17.

Police say a suspect “forced entry into the church and stole a variety of electronics.”

It’s unclear why it took three weeks to issue the release.

“The OPP are asking for the public’s assistance in identifying the person responsible for the theft,” police stated, though they did not say which church was targeted.

Police posted a 17-second surveillance video online but it is in black and white and does not show the suspect’s face.
