GUELPH – St. Joseph’s Health Centre Foundation has announced a $250,000 gift from the Jarrell Family Foundation in support of the Building Better Healthcare Campaign.
The donation will help fund medical equipment and technologies that enhance rehabilitation, dementia care, long term care and complex medical services at St. Joseph’s Health Centre Guelph.
Officials stated the Jarrell family’s gift is supporting vital medical equipment, including a new medication administration system.
The platform is designed to improve accuracy and efficiency in medication delivery, helping care teams spend more time with patients at the bedside.
“We are deeply grateful to Jim, Sandra, and the entire Jarrell family for their extraordinary generosity,” stated Sera Filice, CEO of St. Joseph’s Health Centre Foundation Guelph.
“This gift will have a lasting impact on people facing serious illness, injury, or advanced disease, offering comfort, safety, and dignity at a time when they need it most.”
In recognition of this gift, the multi-sensory room at St. Joseph’s, a therapeutic space that supports individuals living with dementia, has been named in honour of the Jarrell Family Foundation.
The room’s calming lights, textures and interactive technology help reduce anxiety and promote well-being for those experiencing cognitive challenges.
“Our family believes in the importance of community and in caring for people with compassion,” says Jim Jarrell, CEO of Linamar Corporation.
“We are honoured to support the incredible work being done at St. Joseph’s and to be part of building better healthcare for everyone in Guelph. We hope others in our community will consider how they too can make a difference where it matters most.”
“The Jarrells join a growing group of community leaders who are championing the campaign to transform care at St. Joseph’s through state-of-the-art equipment and healing environments,” stated officials in a press release.
“Their generosity is helping ensure the Health Centre continues to meet the needs of patients and families with compassion, innovation and excellence.”
