Tennis club hosts open house Saturday

On April 28, the tennis club here will be hosting an open house to showcase the Tower Street tennis facilities, membership benefits and to advertise new tennis programs that will be introduced for the 2012 season.

The club has been focusing on promoting tennis to juniors over the past two years and is building programs for junior development and beginner players to improve their game and to enjoy tennis in a fun and friendly atmosphere.

New programs being introduced this year include a weekly tennis clinic for beginner players and weekly round robin matches for juniors to provide an opportunity for kids to learn and play tennis with other players of their own age and skill level.

Both of those programs will be organized and run by the club tennis pro, Dana Castle, and they are included with club membership.

In addition to those new programs, there will also be various tennis clinics for adult players, junior development programs, a regular houseleague, scheduled tournaments for juniors and adults to be held throughout the tennis season and our regular summer tennis camps for kids that are run weekly in July and August.

The Fergus tennis club is run exclusively by volunteers and it is always looking at ways to improve the local facilities, offer new programs to the membership and promote tennis as healthy, lifelong family oriented sport in the community.

Everyone is invited to the open house.
