Five people were seriously injured in Canada Day collision near Ariss

GUELPH/ERAMOSA – Five people were seriously injured when two vehicles collided head-on just outside Ariss late on Tuesday night.

Emergency crews responded to the crash on Wellington Road 86 on July 1 at about 11pm.

“As a result of the collision, five individuals were transported to hospital, including a 16-year-old passenger who sustained life-altering injuries,” states a press release from the Wellington County OPP.

“All drivers and passengers involved suffered serious but non-life-threatening injuries.”

Wellington Road 86 was closed between 8th Line East and Sideroad 16 overnight and for a portion of the next day.
