Teen charged after vehicle, business damaged in Mount Forest

MOUNT FOREST – A local teenager has been charged with mischief after a vehicle and business were damaged in Mount Forest on the weekend.

Wellington County OPP officers responded to a report about “a suspicious person” damaging a vehicle on Wellington Street West at about 11:30pm on Oct. 25.

Four hours later, at about 3:30am on Oct. 26, police were called about a broken window at a business on Main Street South.

A 16-year-old from Mount Forest was charged with two counts of mischief (destroying or damaging property).

The accused, whose identity is protected under the Youth Criminal Justice Act, is scheduled to appear in Guelph court at a later date.
