Tee up for East Wellington Community Services

With Spring in full swing, East Wellington Community Services (EWCS) is looking forward to summer and is busy preparing for the 12th annual fundraising Golf Tournament on July 15 at the Guelph Lakes Golf and Country Club.

The event will kick off at 11am with a catered lunch for golfers followed by a 12:30pm shotgun start of the golf tournament using best ball format.

Participating as a golfer in the tournament costs $125 per person and includes 18 holes of golf, a catered lunch and sirloin steak dinner, the use of a power cart, a team photograph, use of the driving range and the opportunity to meet many other community minded individuals and businesses.

There are only spaces available for 144 golfers so participants are urged to register early.

The annual golf tournament has become a cornerstone fundraising event for the agency. Proceeds raised from this event are used to continue funding programs and services that support the local communities, including the active adults’ recreation programs, seniors’ day program, transportation, community information and referral services and children’s programs.

There are many sponsorship opportunities available including sponsoring tournament contests, sponsoring a hole or donating an item for the silent and live auctions held as part of the event. All of these sponsorship opportunities will showcase support of East Wellington Community Services to the more than 140 golfers in attendance at this year’s tournament in addition to being recognized within the local community for the support as a sponsor.

Further information is available by calling 519-833-9696 or www.eastwellingtoncommunityservices.com

Being a tournament sponsor or golfer will help EWCS to help neighbors in need in the local community by ensuring the programs and services through East Wellington Community Services that they count on, including the food bank, community outreach, senior’s transportation and others, can continue to be provided through EWCS.

“Enjoy a great afternoon of golf all the while showcasing your support for your local community services organization – get into the swing of summer with the EWCS golf tournament,”  organizers urge.
