GUELPH – Team McKinnell raised $7,500 at Tour De Guelph on June 22, surpassing their goal of $6,000. Team captains Joan McKinnel and her dad, Ross want to extend sincere thanks to everyone who supported the team. “Since the Tour de Guelph started in 2013, Dad has raised a total of $61,642,” Joan stated. “There were 850 riders participating this year and it was a hot morning for the ride, but the breeze and trees’ canopy helped.” Team McKinnell was larger than it’s ever been before, with 22 riders on three different routes: 50 km road ride, 25 km road ride and 50 km off road ride. Ross met the team for lunch after the ride. This year’s Tour de Guelph raised about $220,000 for the Guelph General Hospital Foundation and the Rotary Clubs of Guelph Trillium and Guelph South.
