Taste of Guelph raises $160,000 for St. Joe’s

GUELPH – St. Joseph’s Health Centre Foundation hosted the 22nd annual Taste of Guelph on Sept. 15, a long-standing favourite for local foodies and a signature fundraising event.

This year, through sponsorships, donations and a live auction, just over $160,000 was raised to support patient care and equipment at St. Joseph’s Health Centre.

Presented by Linamar, the event attracted more than 750 guests to the health centre grounds on Westmount Road. Partygoers enjoyed samples from more than 50 of the region’s finest local chefs, restaurants, caterers, food trucks, vintners and brewers.

“Thanks to all of our guests and generous sponsors once again we were able to host an event that brought the community together here at St. Joseph’s Health Centre,” said Sera Filice-Armenio, CEO of St. Joseph’s Health Centre Foundation Guelph.

Guests enjoyed three signature cocktails from first-time participants Gin Mill Guelph called A Wolf in the Herb Garden.

All proceeds from Taste of Guelph purchase much-needed equipment so St. Joseph’s can help support patients and residents who are often faced with life-altering health challenges to live their best life possible.

“Whether it is a child in need of speech therapy, a mother who is managing complex injuries from a serious accident, a father who is recovering from a stroke or a grandmother in need of palliative care in her final days, St. Joseph’s cares for the Guelph community during some of their most vulnerable days,” said David Wormald, President, St. Joseph’s Health Centre.
