Tartan Day workshops to be held at Melville United Church

FERGUS - WeeAlec Productions is offering a number of afternoon workshops featuring  the musicians performing in the National Tartan Day Concert on April 6 at Melville United Church in Fergus.

The workshops will take place from 12:15 to 3:30pm at Melville United Church. All workshops cost $25.

The following workshops will be offered:

Tony McManus will be offering a guitar workshop:

Julia Toaspern will explore fiddle techniques;

Jacob McCauley will host a Bodhrán workshop; and

there will be an ensemble workshop by Graeme McGillivray and James Law - participants are encouraged to bring along whatever instrument(s) they may play.

Alyth McCormack from the Isle of Lewis will also be teaching a Scottish Gaelic mouth music (Puirt à beul) workshop and everyone is welcome. No need to know Gaelic, so come along for some fun singing.
