GRAND VALLEY – A snowy gale from the west producing wind chills of -18C greeted the intrepid participants in the 34th Grand Valley Lions Club Polar Bear Dip on Jan. 4. The event was rescheduled from New Year’s Day due to dangerously high water levels. Large chunks of ice floated down the Grand River as young and old took the plunge into water at a bone chilling +2C.
