Support for turbine stand
Mapleton council endorsed a resolution from North Middlesex declaring that municipality is “not a willing host” for industrial wind turbine projects at its June 11 meeting.
Anti-turbine lobby group, Ontario Wind Resistance lists 50 municipalities that have passed similar motions since Premier Kathleen Wynne declared municipalities should have a say in the development of energy projects within their borders.
Mapleton council passed a “not a willing host” resolution at its May 28 meeting. Centre Wellington is the only other Wellington County municipality to have passed such a motion.
