Superstars Baton Club wins big at Ingersoll competition

]The Superstars Baton Club competed in the annual Ingersoll competition May 13. Approximately 60 athletes from St. Mary’s, Arthur, Fergus, Walkerton, Thamesford, and Kitchener gathered for the day long competition.

The teams Spice Girls, Under the Sea, Sound of Silence, Bonita, Footloose and Cotton Eyed Joe all won first place.

Hakuna Matata, Will You Be There and Bearcats all placed second.

Individual results are as follows:

- Mackenzie Fraser, 10, of Arthur received five first places;

- Madisyn Gibbard, 14 of Kitchener, received three first places and won the Junior Basic Skills Pageant;

- Alyssa George, 14, of Fergus received four first places;

- Jamie Green, 8, of Arthur received a first place and won the Juvenile Basic Skills Pageant;

- Alexis Herriot, 15, of Fergus received three first places and won the Senior Basic Skills Pageant;

- Hayleigh Homer, 14, of Fergus received four first places;

- Morgan Hutchinson, 9, of Arthur received two first places;

- Skylar Irwin, 15, of Arthur, four first places;

- Lyla Kuntz, 8, of Chepstow received five first places;

- Shayla Logel, 12, of Elora received four first places;

- Elsie Post, 12, of Arthur received two first places;

- Ali Pratt, 8, of Fergus received a first place;

- Jayda Saunders, 8, of Fergus received two first places;

- Lainey Saunders, 10, of Fergus received a first place and won the PreTeen Basic Skills pageant;

- Jadyn Worton, 9, of Fergus received one first place; and

- Makenzie Worton, 15, of Fergus received four first places.

Paige Johnston and Chelsea McFadden received other podium finishes.

Duet team of George/Worton, McFadden/Pringle and Green/Saunders placed first.

The twirlers are trained by Krista DiStasi, Alyssa George, Lauren Robb and Makenzie Worton of Fergus and by Bailey Pinder of Teeswater.
