Sunrise hosts Hoofbeat Challenge and Family Day Sept. 29

The annual Sunrise Hoofbeat Challenge and Family Day takes place on Sept. 29 with a full day of activities for all ages.

At 10am, dog walkers and hikers are invited to take to the trails to raise money for the many Sunrise children’s programs.

This is followed by horse riders being led out on the trails by the mounted unit of the Wellington OPP, at 11am.

The trails encompass four neighbouring farms in addition to those at Sunrise.

At 10:30am, the farm is open to the public for Family Day, with a $5 per person admission at the gate, maximum $20 a family. Parking is free.

The day includes a full schedule of children’s activities including face painting, Lucky Dip, children’s games, horse drawn wagon rides, and a Teddy Bear contest.

Musician Erick Traplin will take the stage at 12:30pm.

The dog agility demonstration will begin at 2pm featuring the Diamonds-in-the-Ruff.

Throughout the day there will be a silent auction, door prizes, bake sale and more.

The Sept. 29 event is a rain or shine program.

The Sunrise Therapeutic Riding and Learning Centre is located at 6920 Concession 1 in Puslinch, off Townline Rd.
