Arthur may be growing again in the near future as Wellington North council recently agreed to a request for sewage allocations for a multi-family residential development.
Councillors agreed with its water and sewer committee recommendation for  an allocation of 25 units.
As per the township policy, the allocation will be for six months, after which the allocation may be withdrawn if there is no development of the project.
According to the water and sewer committee report, Arthur still has 73 sewage units available.
Farz Holding Inc.’s application for 25 units is less than half of the available units, and therefore falls within council’s allocation policy.
A letter from planners Black, Shoemaker, Robinson and Donaldson noted that its clients have hired engineers, architects and planners to prepare plans and reports for the development of the property, which is situated on the east side of Preston Street, south of Smith Street, at the northern end of the village.
