MOUNT FOREST – Students at Wellington Heights Secondary School rang out the school year with an engaging year-end assembly with all students and staff on June 18.

Organized by the student council and teachers Emily Lubbers and Lily Valade, the assembly included a slideshow of photos of events, activities, sports, and experiences that happened throughout the school year.

The school guitar club also shared some music with students and staff.

Student representatives bid farewell to retiring staff members David Forsyth, Diane Johnson, and Shirley Person.

Vice principal Chris Fiddes was thanked by students, as he will be transferring to vice principal of College Heights Secondary School in Guelph next year.

In his place, Pam Eurig will be transferring from continuing education to Wellington Heights to serve as vice principal.

Physical education teachers Bridget Kosempel and Matt McFarlane presented the most valuable player awards to students for every sports team that competed this year at Wellington Heights.

The two teachers also presented Athlete Of The Year Awards.
