Stagecoach will make local stops on way to Grey Cup

To mark the 100th anniversary of the Grey Cup, a stagecoach will be rolling down Highway 9, making to stops in Wellington County before travelling on to Toronto for the 2012 CFL football classic on Nov. 25.

On two previous occasions (1961 and 1970) residents of Kincardine drove a stagecoach to the Grey Cup festivities in Toronto.

The stagecoach will leave Kincardine at 8am on Sunday Nov. 18 will also include outriders for most of the trip.  The schedule includes overnight stops in Walkerton  on Nov. 18, Harriston on Nov. 19, Arthur on Nov. 20 (arrival at 4pm at the corner of George and Frederick) and Orangeville on Nov. 21, before moving on to Toronto, where it will be part of various events during the four-day festival. A side trip to the Silver Spur Ranch in Neustadt will take place during the Nov. 19 leg of the journey.

The stagecoach will be making a delivery to CFL headquarters including some valuable “silver.” For more information contact Brad Kirkconnell at 519-396-8028.
