‘Spring Rural Romp’ features 18 stops
WELLINGTON COUNTY – Eighteen farms, nurseries, cafés and a distillery are inviting people on a self-guided “rural romp” across northern Wellington on May 30.
Taste Real’s Spring Rural Romp is featuring its largest lineup in the tour’s history.
Visitors can tour production facilities, meet local producers and shop for seedlings, spring produce and locally made goods.
Many stops will feature a signature “must taste” item.
Stops in Mapleton, Minto and Wellington North are available 10am to 4pm, with some open longer.
“The Rural Romp is a popular event for both visitors and residents who want to learn more about local agriculture and where their food comes from,” said Wellington County economic development chair Jeff Duncan.
“It’s a great opportunity for farms and businesses to connect with new customers, share their stories and showcase the incredible local food and agricultural products grown and made right here in Wellington County.”
A treasure hunt offers three $100 gift certificates to local food businesses.
