Spring flower show held in Harriston

President Sue Bridge welcomed everyone amid all the colourful flowers to the May meeting of the Harriston and District Horticultural Society. Mary Anne Connell introduced the guest speaker Julia Kron, a master gardener from Guelph. Her topic was “Coping after the ban on pesticides.”

Best design of the flower show was made by Dorelene Anderson, while the most points in designs was won by Mary Anne Connell. Most points for potted plants went to Alice Douglas, and she also had the best African Violet. The best spring flower, a tulip, was shown by Rita Bedell. The best daffodil was shown by Marg Reidt and  Margaret Weber had the best potted plant.

Draws were made for some annuals.
