SPIES, Beth Gwendolyn (nee Kitchen) It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Beth Spies on Thursday, September 6th, 2018 in her 76th year. Beth was the devoted and hard-working wife of Lyle (Butch) Spies for 57 laughter-filled and eventful years. She was the best mother to her children: Karen and Dave Tilker of Palmerston, John Spies (d. 1981), Janet Spies (Dan Melanson, d. 2002) of Elora and Jenni and Alex Mathews of Alma; we could not have been loved by a kinder heart. Dearly missed by her wonderful grandchildren, who were her pride and joy: Brandon and Colton Tilker, and Riley and Emma Melanson. She loved every minute she got to spend with them. Special Grandma to Lobby Bateman of Austria, and Cooper, Zinda and Cali - her favourite furry friends. Beth will also be missed by many friends and extended family members whom she cared about deeply. Her desire to share a smile and show kindness to everyone she knew will be forever missed. Cremation has taken place, and in Beth’s honour a drop-in celebration of life will be held at the Alma Community Centre, Saturday, October 6th, 2018 from 2:00 to 4:00pm. Please come as you are and join the family in sharing memories of our amazing wife, mother, grandmother and friend. In lieu of flowers, donations in Beth’s memory can be made to the Groves Memorial Hospital, The Canadian Lung Association, or a charity of one’s choice.
