Soups on for Soup Off

If you want to have a Thanksgiving Monday that is really in the spirit of the day, be sure to take part in the Sensational Elora ‘Soup Off’.

Since Sensational Elora started in 2008 organizers have raised more than $45,000 to fight hunger in our community.

Through events like the Soup off, donations have been made to both the Centre Wellington Food Bank and the Centre Wellington District High School Breakfast Program.

Along with helping a great cause in the community, you get to be ‘Food Critic for a Day’ as you cast your vote in the category of Professional, Amateur and Youth soups.

Admission is $40 (or proof of 2012 empty bowl purchase plus $15) and includes the  choice of a stunning, one of a kind pottery bowl and all the soup you care to slurp.

There is still time to sign up as a competitor in the Soup Off.  If you want to stir it up, visit www.sensationalelora.com to enter.

The Soup Off takes place Oct. 8 from 1pm to 4pm at the Aboyne Hall at the Wellington  County Museum.

Bowls are on sale at Fergus Grand Theatre, 519-787-1981, or online  at www.fergusgrandtheatre.com.
