ELORA - The Elora Arts Council is once again holding a series of three art talks this winter.

“Our guest speakers are all recognized and respected professionals who live in or near Centre Wellington,” officials say.

“They often speak or teach elsewhere, but have seldom been heard here.

“This is an opportunity for us to hear them here in our own community.”

Sonia Day, the first speaker in the series, is the author of Deer Eyes, an award winning novel, and two non-fiction books, Middle Age Spread and the Untamed Garden.

Day has written multiple books on gardening and was a long-running gardening columnist with the Toronto Star.

An accomplished artist and master gardener, Day brings her lively, humorous and frank speaking style to the topic:  how to start and finish a novel.

The talk will take place on Jan. 27 at 2pm at the Fergus Library Community Room.

Tickets are $10 at the door.

Future talks

Future talks will take place on:

Feb. 24 at 2pm – Mike Hintermeister at the Fergus library; and

March 24 at 2pm – Phil Dietrich at the Elora library.
