SOCKETT, Ronald “Ron” of Palmerston passed away peacefully at the Palmerston and District Hospital on Thursday, February 18, 2016 in his 84th year. Beloved husband of the late Gloria Sockett (2004). Dear father of Ronald Douglas “Doug” Sockett and his wife Noreen of R.R. # 1 Palmerston, Donald Carl Sockett and his wife Patricia of Madison Wisconsin, Barbara Lynne Jones of Fordwich, George Wayne Sockett and his wife Karen of Wingham, Karen Marie Sockett and Robert Robinson “Meese” of Milverton. Bill Allain and his wife Sandra of Acton, and Darlene Allain-Ferrier of Waterdown. Cherished grandfather of Riley Sockett, Mary Jones, Blake Jones, Megan Sockett, Kori Sockett, Matthew Allain, Michael Allain, Natasha Allain and Nicole Ferrier. Brother of Doreen Sullivan of Edmonton, Alberta, Robert Sockett of Edmonton, Alberta, Marlene and Jack McFadden of Guelph and Barry and Linda Sockett of Dartmouth Nova Scotia. Fondly remembered by his nieces, nephews and friends. Predeceased by his sister Nancy Currie, sister-in-law Blanche Sockett and brother-in-law Ken Graber. The family will receive friends at the Heritage Funeral Home, Palmerston on Thursday, March 3, 2016 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Rev. Jeff Hawkins will conduct the Funeral Service in the Funeral Home Chapel on Friday, March 4, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. A Masonic Service will be held on Thursday, March 3, 2016 at 6:30 pm.
