BELFOUNTAIN – The Belfountain Heritage Society is hosting the West Credit River Heritage Tour on Oct. 15 and 16.

Organizers are inviting members of the public to discover which Group of Seven members painted in the Credit Valley.

Participants will witness the West Credit River’s rich ecosystem along the river on a private trail and see the site of Belfountain’s first, and hopefully only, murder.  They will also learn about the area’s earliest inhabitants, spot brook trout and watch fly-fishing demonstrations.

Proceeds from the event will help pay for monitoring of the West Credit River and protection of Caledon’s native brook trout, and continued heritage education.
