Smokey and the Bandit tribute run to lead off 2015 classic truck show in Clifford on July 3

Rob Johnston and Verdun Zurbrigg of the Great Lakes Truck Club are co-ordinators of the 6th Annual Classic Truck Show in Clifford.

This year, International Harvester Trucks will be featured at the show on July 3 to 4.

On the Friday night before the truck show gets into full swing, a parade of second generation Pontiac Trans Ams will leave the arena parking lot at 5pm and wind its way along to Drew, follow the loop back, cross over the lights to the Lakelet Road, turn right to Highway 9, and parade back to the parking lot to be displayed for fans of the hit 1977 movie, Smokey and the Bandit.

There is an open invitation for everyone of every age with a second generation Trans Am in every colour to join the parade.

Johnson and Zurbrigg are running the roads promoting the truck show and its host community Clifford.

Canada Day is Wednesday, July 1. The ‘Bandit’ tribute run is Friday, July 3 and the drivers should be back in time to enjoy supper at the fish fry hosted by Ellen Underwood and her team from Knox United Church.

The truck show runs, July 4, kicking off with a farmer’s breakfast hosted by the Clifford Rotary Club.
