Skating follows Harriston parade
“The Grinch’s Christmas” is the theme of the 2012 Harriston Santa Claus Parade.
Sponsored by Town of Minto Harriston Station Firefighters, the event is scheduled for Saturday, Nov. 24, beginning at 3:30pm. The parade line-up will start at Speare Seeds.
After the parade, youngsters can go to the arena for hot chocolate and free public skating. Santa will be on hand in the lobby to meet and talk with the children.
Donations of food for the local food bank will be collected by the fire department along the parade route, or may be dropped off at the fire hall the day of the parade.
Also this year, the Ladies Auxiliary will be gathering letters for Santa. They can be dropped off at the Harriston Home Hardware in the store or in the mailbox. The ladies will look after getting the letters to Santa for him to reply to.
