The Fergus Force hit the road for the first time this season, and despite another short bench, gave the perennial contender Bradford Rattlers all they could handle in a 6-2 loss.

Fergus’ Beau Janssen, scored the first ever goal for the Force, knocking in a rebound at 8:08 of the second period, and also assisted on a goal by Tommy Gramando at 17:18 of the second period.

The Force were down 1-0 after the first and 5-2 after two periods.

The Rattlers added one in the third.

The Force were outshot 57-34, but goaltender Kody Kushniruk was outstanding in goal, said officials, and Rattler goaltenders had plenty of good Force chances to deal with as well.

Overall, despite being out-manned once again, it was a much better performance, team officials stated, noting the Force was missing key players Andrew Ferlatte, Kolton Maguire, Milan Bango, Owen Routheut, Sean Caruso and newly-signed Fergus player Eric Egan.
