FERGUS – Shoetopia, the locally owned footwear store with locations in Fergus and Mount Forest, is proud to announce that its community initiative, the Donation Location, has surpassed 2,600 pairs of donated shoes since 2023 – all given directly to local families through community food banks.
The program invites customers to bring in gently used footwear they no longer wear and drop them off in one of Shoetopia’s in-store donation boxes.
In return, each donor receives a $10 Shoetopia gift certificate, encouraging them to trade in the old for something they truly need or want while helping someone else do the same.
“It’s a beautiful full-circle program,” says Pete Mohr, owner of Shoetopia.
“People free up space, feel good about helping others, and the shoes go straight to local families who need them. We’re incredibly proud of how the community has embraced it.”
Donated shoes are delivered directly to the Centre Wellington Food Bank where clients are free to take what they need.
Shoetopia launched the Donation Location as part of its ongoing mission to make people look great, feel fantastic, and feel a deeper connection to their community.
With over 2,600 pairs of shoes already distributed over the past two years, the impact continues to grow.
Drop-off locations are:
– Fergus: 860 Tower St S and
– Mount Forest: 235 Main St S.
