Shellenberger on panel for Tory riding dinner

The Guelph Riding Association of the Conservative Party of Canada will host its annual Sir John A. Macdonald Dinner on March 21 from 6 to 10pm at the Wellington County Museum and Archives.

After dinner, there will be a panel discussion of current federal issues and policies. Dr. Ross McKitrick will moderate a panel of three members of parliament: Gary Schellenburger, Perth-Wellington; Joe Preston, Elgin-Middlesex-London and Mike Wallace, Burlington.

McKitrick specializes in environmental economics and policy analysis. In addition to being a professor of economics at the University of Guelph, he is also a senior fellow of the Fraser Institute, a Canadian free-market public policy think tank, and a member of several academic advisory boards.

McKitrick is the co-author of Taken by Storm: The Troubled Science, Policy and Politics of Global Warming (2003), and author of Economic Analysis of Environmental Policy (2010).

The three MP panelists have been re-elected several times and, between them, have over 25 years of experience in Parliament.

“They will bring in-depth knowledge and a true southwest Ontario perspective to the panel discussion,” states a press release from the riding association.

Dinner tickets are $25 for both Conservative Party of Canada members and non-members.

All residents of Guelph and nearby ridings are invited to attend.

Tickets can be purchased by going to www.guelphcp.ca, and following the link on the homepage.
