SHAFER, Constance Aileen (nee Lightheart)

SHAFER, Constance Aileen (nee Lightheart); Mothers are a special breed, Their hearts abound with care, No matter what the need, My Mom was always there. Aileen was born and raised in Beachville, Ontario in 1918, the fourth child of William and Naomi Lightheart. She married E.J. Shafer in 1938 and they celebrated 57 years of marriage prior to his death in 1995. She was the beloved mother of Connie Shafer of Hanover and Patrick Shafer of Kemptville. She was a proud Nana of Vicki Hafner, Wesley Law, Ryan and Jeff Law, Kelly Shafer, Alynn Shafer and the Great Nana to Nicolas. She is also survived by her sister Marcia Smith of Beachville. Aileen was predeceased by her husband Jim, her son Michael (2013), her brothers Halley and Carmen Lightheart and her sister Margaret Thompson. Jim and Aileen were proud members of St. Mary’s Parish in Elora. Cremation has taken place and a Private Memorial Service will take place at a later date.
